“Live. Love. Rescue.” is the motto for the Lucky Bucs Homeless Pets Club here at Allatoona. This is the second year that the club has been up and running with the help of Mrs. Williams, Coach Fortenberry and Coach Speeney. Through emails, shelter visits, fostering, and even helping pay for the costs of spaying and neutering, they have had many heartfelt success stories. One is very special indeed.
She comes to the call of Layla. She was recently adopted into the forever home of Coach Fortenberry. Layla is on of the best dogs that you’ll ever be around. And after many months of training, repetition and patience Layla was rewarded with the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Program. This is an award that goes through a series of test that puts dogs in everyday situations. It recognizes dogs with high levels of training and the right demeanor. Dogs that pass this test can be highly trusted and involved in the community. Since Layla’s accomplishment Coach Fortenberry has high hopes for her to be a therapy dog. She would be a great therapy dog because she loves children and especially children with special needs.
Layla not only hopes to help her surrounding community of human beings but the dogs in her community too. She is having a party for her accomplishments on October 12th and is asking for donations for the Southeastern Greyhound Adoption. Lucky Bucs is asking for items like dog shampoo, wipes and any type of blankets or towels. Please support the club and help save the dogs around you!
