In addition to the many clubs at Allatoona we now have an Outdoor Adventure Club. It is sponsored by Mrs. Haney, Mrs. Wells, Ms. Fortenberry, Mr. Ravenscraft, and Mr. Funderburk. The purpose of the OAC is to expose students to the many exciting outdoor activities that are available in our community. This club will help to unify students with similar interests while allowing them to develop an appreciation, love, and respect for nature and beauty. The students in the club will learn survival skills as well as how to prepare and plan to make outdoor activities more fun and successful.

Students in the Outdoor Adventure Club have the opportunity to do many activities, trips, events, and service projects. Activities include: ropes courses, hiking, backpacking, bike riding, horseback riding, fishing, camping, skiing, white water rafting, caving, rock climbing every Wednesday at the YMCA, canoeing, and kayaking. Upcoming trips and events include visiting the Atlanta Aquarium, sponsoring our own bake sales and Hershey’s Kisses fundraiser, visiting the Atlanta Zoo, and taking a day trip to Duke Falls. Service projects could include: conservation and cleanup projects in nearby communities.

The Outdoor Adventure Club is a fun, new way to enjoy the outdoors while experiencing the beauty of nature with your peers.
