Once again this year, The Crow’s Nest staff has put together a list of Allatoona’s cutest couples in honor of upcoming Valentine’s Day. We chose one couple from each of our classes, ranging from the new freshmen all the way to our seniors.
Our cutest freshman couple Jordan Perry and Shannon Driscoll have been dating for a little over six months. When asked to describe their relationship, they said “We always have fun no matter what were doing. We don’t get in arguments very much, but when we do, we can’t stay mad at each other for longer than one hour. We focus on the future, and know that whatever happens happens for a reason. And if we have been together this long and still care about each other as much as we always have, there is a reason we are together. Were always with each other, and miss each other the second we are apart. We care so much about each other, and nothing will ever change that.”
Luke and Mallory have been together for the past eight months. In that time, they’ve become almost inseparable, whether that means coming in early to work at Buccaneer Brew, or having lazy days on the weekends. ”One of the reasons I love Mallory is because we can do whatever even if its more of a guy thing like riding four wheelers or going wake boarding and still have fun” says Luke. Mallory further reflected on their relationship by saying “We know how much we care about each other every hour of everyday and that just never gets old for us. Each day our relationship becomes stronger and the phrase “I love you” means more. We’re more than just your average couple, we’re best friends.” Allatoona’s cutest sophomore couple- Luke Miller and Mallory Wojihowski.
Next is a name that may seem all too familiar, our editor, Lauren Gourley. Lauren and Alex Newell have been together for about two months now. However, they dated last year and once again Alex will have the privilege of calling our wonderful Lauren his Valentine who had this to say about the two of them as a couple. “A lot of people seem to claim that their significant other is their best friend because of how well they know each other, but I’d like to think we’re a tad different. Originally we were just an awkward couple getting used to one another, but this time around he’s honestly one of the most important people in my life. We grew close in our friendship and the next thing I knew we were back at it again. This time, I’m not dating my lab partner, but the person I care about most.” The couple has often been told that their each others twin, obviously by Alex’s response when he was asked to describe their relationship this claim could be proved true. “The best part is how comfortable I am with Lauren. We have been best friends for the longest time and she still is my best friend. It takes nothing large to entertain us, we can do the smallest things and make each other smile. My favorite days are when we just go driving with each other on an “adventure” just to find new places to go to such as parks or good small restaurants. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been to the movies without her. Haven’t been happier, she makes me smile more and easier than anyone else i know.”
Wilderness man Cody Hardin & Cheer Captain Michelle Hurn are Allatoona’s cutest senior couple. These two wholly embody the phrase “opposites attract”, to say the least.” For some odd reason we became best friends. Over time we got to know each other better. We have always picked on each other and even though everyone thought we were dating we really weren’t. Over Christmas break we went on a date and decided to give a relationship a shot. Some people might think it’s awkward to be dating your best friend but for us, nothings really changed. We still pick on each other and tease each other constantly. We have our good days and we have our bad days but in the end we always have each other. We are just that crazy couple that is completely comfortable with each other.” Our cutest senior couple- “The Yankee and the country boy”.
